ABOUT ME

Having been raised in the vibrant multicultural landscape of Qatar, I have always been deeply intertwined with the world of sports. From the bustling excitement leading up to the the Qatar 2022 World Cup, to personally attending the historic event with my family, sports have been an integral part of my life journey.

 

During my 17 years in Qatar, I not only actively participated in school sports but also eagerly volunteered at major sporting events whenever I could, including the prestigious 2019 IAAF World Championships and the renowned Liz McColgan Training Camp for cross country in 2016. These experiences ignited a passion within me for the sports industry, shaping my goals for the future.

 

Growing up and seeing female reporters and pundits in sports media inspired me, leading to the discovery of my love for journalism. I then pursued this passion by studying journalism at a university in Scotland. I was drawn to the power of storytelling and the impact of words, which led me to focus on sports journalism as my career path.

 

My diverse heritage, with roots tracing back to Ireland and Peru, gave me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. Growing up in a household enriched with South American and European customs, amidst the backdrop of the Middle East, I developed a unique perspective that fuels my storytelling. Journalism, with its ability to excel beyond borders and embrace cultural nuances, resonated deeply with my upbringing, offering endless possibilities for exploration and connections.

 

As I prepare to step into the dynamic realm of sports journalism professionally, my unwavering passion drives me to seek out captivating stories, applaud sporting accomplishments, and champion diversity and inclusion within the industry. With each article and interview conducted, I aim to leave a lasting impression.
